THE GREEK CIMAC ASSOCIATION

About Us

The Greek CIMAC Association is a not-for-profit organization linking marine industry related companies in Greece and affiliated to the International CIMAC (International Council on Internal Combustion Engines) founded in Paris in 1951.

The objectives of CIMAC are to promote technical and scientific knowledge in the field of piston engines and gas turbines, to promote the exchange of experience between all interested parties and to act as a neutral advisor to international organizations.

The engine user aspect is highly visible in the Greek CIMAC Association. Thus more than 60% of the present members are shipping companies, including some of the largest in Greece, commanding more than 300 ships and 18 Million Tons DWT.

The Greek CIMAC Association provides links to the International CIMAC and especially to the various technical Working Groups, distributes the CIMAC Recommendations and other publications to its members and organizes various Scientific events and Technical presentations in Greece.

There are several CIMAC Working Groups with international membership in areas such Automation, Crankshafts, Emissions, Fuels, Lubricants, Operation & Maintenance etc. (For more info see CIMAC Working Groups).
